Who we are
JazzSync is a jazz piano learning app made by Dima, a jazz pianist and teacher. It is run by DMusic, the business of Dimitry Minishin, sole trader (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at any time at [email protected]. By creating an account or buying a plan you agree to these terms.

What JazzSync is
JazzSync teaches jazz piano: theory and harmony, voicings and forms, practising on your keyboard, lines and phrasing, scales over changes, ear training and the JazzSync books. You play on a MIDI keyboard or on the keys on the screen, and the app checks what you play. Some lessons are played with a band (bass and drums). The app works in a web browser; MIDI needs a browser that supports it, such as Chrome or Edge on a computer.
We keep improving JazzSync, so lessons, levels and features can change over time. We will not take away the main parts of a paid plan while it is running.
Your account
- An account is for one person. Please don’t share your login.
- Use an email address you can read: we send important messages about your account there.
- If you are under 16, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
- You can delete your account at any time by writing to [email protected].
Plans and prices
- Free: Level 1 of every module, Pentatonic & Blues Level 2 and the first chapter of every book, with the band and live feedback. No payment needed.
- Full access: $19.99 a month, or $159 a year.
- Founders: $119 a year, for the first 100 members.
- Early birds: $139 a year, for the next 100 members.
- Teachers and schools: by agreement; write to us.
Prices are in US dollars. At checkout you may see the price in your own currency, and the sales tax or VAT of your country is added where the law requires it.
Founders and Early-bird prices stay the same for as long as your yearly plan keeps renewing without a break. If you cancel and come back later, the plan’s price at that time applies.
Payments through Paddle
Our online reseller is Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all JazzSync orders: it sells the plan to you, takes the payment, adds the right tax, and sends your receipts and invoices. Paddle also handles refunds and payment questions. Paddle’s buyer terms apply to the payment itself. We never see or store your card number.
The free week
Paid plans start with a 7-day free trial. You give a payment method at the start, but nothing is charged during the 7 days. If you cancel before the trial ends, you pay nothing. If you don’t cancel, the first payment is taken when the trial ends. One free trial per person.
Renewal and cancelling
- Plans renew automatically: monthly plans every month, yearly plans every year, at the price shown when you bought it, unless we tell you about a change (see below).
- You can cancel at any time: Account → Manage my subscription, or through the link in any Paddle receipt.
- When you cancel, you keep full access until the end of the period you have paid for. After that your account goes back to the Free plan; your progress is kept.
- If a payment fails, Paddle tries again for a short time. If it still fails, the plan ends and the account goes back to Free.
Refunds
See our refund policy.
Price changes
If we change the price of a plan, we email you at least 30 days before your next payment at the new price, so you can cancel first if you wish. Founders and Early-bird prices don’t change while your plan keeps renewing.
Using JazzSync fairly
- JazzSync is for your own learning, and teachers can use it in their lessons.
- The lessons, examples, recordings, books and PDFs belong to DMusic. Don’t copy, share, sell or publish them, and don’t share the member PDFs with others.
- Don’t try to break, overload, copy or take apart the app, or collect its content with automated tools.
- In the forum, be kind and on topic. No spam, no insults, nothing illegal. We may remove posts that break these rules.
What stays yours
Your takes, answers and forum posts stay yours. You allow us to store them and to use them only to run JazzSync for you (for example to show your progress, or to show your post in the forum). Our privacy page explains what we store and why.
Music you enter: tunes, lead sheets and takes
JazzSync lets you play and save music: your takes, and (when the lead-sheet builder opens) the chords and melodies of tunes you write down. The music you enter is your responsibility.
- Your own music stays yours.
- Music by other people (for example the melody of a jazz standard that is still protected by copyright) may be entered only for your own private study and practice, as far as the law where you live allows. You are responsible for having the right to use it.
- Tunes and lead sheets are private to your account. JazzSync does not publish them, share them or offer them to other users.
- Don’t share protected music through JazzSync: no melodies or lead sheets of protected tunes in the forum or anywhere else in JazzSync where other people can see them, and no recordings of them, unless you have the rights. Chord progressions alone are fine to share.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something in JazzSync uses your work without permission, write to [email protected] with your name, the work, where you found it in JazzSync, and why you believe it infringes your rights. We look at every complaint quickly and remove the material when it infringes. We may close the account of someone who repeatedly shares protected music.
If something goes wrong
We work hard to keep JazzSync running and correct, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of mistakes, and it depends on your browser, device and internet connection. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
Ending an account
You can stop using JazzSync and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; if that happens to a paid plan without good reason, we refund the unused part.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of Israel, where DMusic is based. If you live in another country, this doesn’t take away the protection that the consumer law of your country gives you.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we update the date at the top. For important changes we email you before they apply to you.
